Featured in Women’s Health: 4 Exercises to age-proof your body

I’m excited to share that I’ve been featured in the June 2025 edition of Women’s Health online, in an article focused on functional exercises to help you stay strong, mobile, and independent as you age.

In a piece titled “Age-proof your body with these 4 functional exercises for lifelong strength,” I had the chance to contribute alongside some of the UK’s leading fitness professionals.

The feature highlights movements that build total-body coordination, stability, and resilience, things I work on with clients of all ages, from doctors and CEO’s to everyday people who want to feel and perform their best long-term.

One of the key movements I spoke about was the Turkish get-up, a highly underrated full-body exercise that mimics real-life activities like getting out of bed or standing from the floor. I explained why it’s so powerful for maintaining functional strength across your entire body, especially as we get older.

If you can perform this movement smoothly on both sides, it’s a strong marker that you’re ageing well.

I also had the opportunity to talk about the straight-arm plank, a movement many people overlook or rush through.

But when done properly, it’s a brilliant test of total-body control and a foundation for longevity, training postural strength and stability from your shoulders down to your feet.

It’s a privilege to be part of a conversation that shifts the focus from aesthetics alone to long-term health and functional performance, something I’ve been passionate about throughout my career.

You can read the full article over at Women’s Health for all four exercises that support lifelong strength, including contributions from fellow expert Aimee Victoria Long.

Thanks to Women’s Health for the feature, and here’s to training for life, not just for now.
