If there’s one thing that I’ve learned over the last 14 years in coaching it’s that the mind is the foundation of all transformation.
I believe that if your mind is working against you (with negative thoughts and self-limiting beliefs), it’s going to be difficult for you to see those long-term changes on the scale that you’re seeking.
When it comes to weight loss, having the correct mindset day in and day out is the key to fostering the long-term personal and physical transformation that you’re really looking for.
Today, we’re going to take an in-depth look at my ‘Pyramid Of Transformation’.
So, What Is The Pyramid Of Transformation?
Physical and mental fitness are the foundation of lasting change.
In learning how to change your physical and mental behaviors, you can unlock the power that you hold deep within you to improve what matters to you most –

My Pyramid Is Broken Down Into Three Sections

- Mindset – How we think, which in turn influences our behaviours
Today, we’re going to focus on the very foundation of the Pyramid of Transformation, upon which you will build the lasting change that you’ve been looking for.
The Mindset Module
In the foundational layer of the Pyramid of Transformation, the mindset module teaches you how to overcome the self-limiting beliefs that plague you each and every day, and the thoughts that serve as tremendous impediments on reaching your full potential.
This module and the lessons within it are designed to help you discover your values and improve your self-image, with the goal of building a solid, easily followable routine that will serve you for the rest of your life.

The ultimate goal of the mindset module is to help you retrain your brain and retrain your thinking patterns, so that you can begin to use your mindset as a tool to achieve your physical transformation goals.
The Brain Is Energy-Hungry
While it’s true that our brains only account for roughly 2% of our body weight, it uses a whopping 20% of our body’s energy!
That means that on a typical day, a person uses around 320 calories just to think!
Let’s put that into perspective – your body burns energy just by thinking.
But what happens when those thoughts are filled with negative cognitions, self-limiting beliefs, and doubts?
Interestingly enough, it’s important to keep in mind that our brain naturally creates habits,
which are essentially patterns of unconscious thought, so that it doesn’t have to exert as much energy throughout the day.
And when those patterns of unconscious thought are filled with the negative cognitions,
beliefs, and doubts mentioned above, it’s clear to see just how easy it can be to fall into what feels like an endless pit.
The Construction Of Our Minds
Our minds are made up of two sections: our conscious mind, and our subconscious mind.

As you can see, the construction of these two sections differs greatly.
The conscious mind tries to use willpower to control our behaviours, habits, and beliefs, but it often loses out to the greater influence that the subconscious mind holds over it.
How Does The Mindset Module Come Into Play?
To put it simply, bad habits can be holding you back from achieving your full potential.
And these bad habits are born in – and are mediated by – your unconscious mind.
While your ability to think logically and critically try to outweigh the influence of your emotions, feelings, and protective reactions, your conscious mind simply doesn’t have enough power to suppress these feelings and create new habits – this is precisely where the Mindset Module comes into play.
